Lymph Drainage Therapy™
Lymph Drainage Therapy (LDT) is special technique to remove the accumulation of fluid and toxins in the tissues. Pain, tingling, and swelling due to overuse injuries and trauma can be helped with LDT. Lymph drainage sessions after surgery reduce scarring and swelling. Fibromyalgia, arthritis and even some cases of trigeminal neuralgia can benefit from Lymph Drainage Therapy. Lymph Drainage Therapy is a relatively new therapy developed by Bruno Chikly, MD, DO of the Chikly Health Institute.
Lymph Drainage Therapy is given with a very light touch. The tiny lymphatic vessels are located just beneath the skin, and a gentle, skilled movement is all it takes to facilitate the transport of stagnant fluids. The gentle movements also trigger the parasympathetic nervous system that creates a lovely state of relaxation. The removal of toxins, improved circulation, and the triggering of the relaxation response helps to relieve chronic pain and stiffness. The movement of lymph also stimulates the immune function providing further benefit.
The removal of lymph nodes in cancer treatment compromises the lymphatic system and puts individuals at risk of developing lymphedema for the rest of their lives. Following prescribed precautions plus Lymph Drainage Therapy sessions reduce the risk of developing lymphedema. The treatment of lymphedema itself can be quite challenging. It includes the use of compression bandaging/garments and daily self-care, as well as LDT. Pam is trained in the management of lymphedema and can treat uncomplicated cases not requiring close medical supervision. She coaches individuals with lymphedema on self-management skills.
NOTE: There are many reasons for the retention of water in the tissues. Edema caused by cardiovascular disease and some other conditions cannot be treated with Lymph Drainage Therapy. Always consult with your primary health care provider for a diagnosis if swelling is present.

Testimonials:
"There may be an occupation just as hard on the body, but none harder than that of a construction worker. Living with swollen hands was an accepted condition. Waking up with hands that were in pain was normal--until recently.
After two treatments the result is astonishing. The constant puffiness is gone--completely gone along with the lingering pain. My fingers now have the shape of fingers instead of wieners. The palms can be closed which is something I have not been able to do for a long, long time.
What is amazing is that a very gentle treatment can do this. After a treatment you walk away feeling that you enjoyed the pampering but really don't see how this could help. Then a day, perhaps two days later you realize the difference. It will come to you unexpectedly--no more pain, no swelling, no puffiness and all because of a gentle, soothing treatment."

I had an old injury about five years ago on the pad of my right foot from a chemical burn. Since that injury I have felt like I was wearing a thick bandage on the pad of the foot and backs of the toes. I had feeling but it was not the “normal” feeling of the other foot. Also I felt restricted in movement as I flexed my toes. Pam’s first treatment on my legs and feet restored more normal feeling in my right foot. As a side benefit I walk with greater ease and balance. Whereas before I had difficulty going up and down stairs and had to use a rail for balance, all of which I attributed to tight muscles, now it is much easier and I don’t have to hold on to something for balance so much."

The first time I had lymph drainage therapy done on my face I was amazed at the immediate results. Instantly, I could see a huge difference in the shape of my face. The lymph drainage therapy made my face look much slimmer than it had before the treatment.
I always feel so good after a lymph drainage treatment on my face. I am in such a good mood for hours; little things that always annoy me or bother me don't bother me after I have a lymph drainage treatment. It's my understanding that this calm, peaceful, happy feeling is due to the stimulating of the parasympathetic nervous system that occurs during a lymph drainage treatment.
When I was struggling with sinus problems (drainage in my throat and ears, lots of sinus pressure in my whole head, my throat and ears were really hurting), I was astonished and very pleased at what a difference the lymph drainage treatment made. I felt great after the lymph drainage treatment!" E.A., Columbia, MO
"I've been seeing Pam for a year and a half. I cannot imagine what shape I'd be in if it weren't for her help. I'm a breast cancer survivor and like many I developed lymphedema in my arm. My insurance won't cover my needed therapy or compression sleeves. Pam has managed to help me maintain and I've not had cellulitis since seeing her. The fibrosis has been alleviated also. She truly knows how to deal with the lymphatic system and is a gifted healer. I'm so thankful to have her on my healing team."
